10 places for a greedy and boozy day in Brighton

It’s already been half a year since I moved to Brighton. I guess I’m eligible at this point to give some good advice for a cheeky day/night out on the streets of this town.

I made a top ten list that contains food and drinks as they quite often come together or one leads to another. So, whatever you’re up to the A) liquid calorie version aka. Drinks only, B) sensible version aka. Food and then drinks or C) I’m going home alone version aka. Drinks then greasy food, this list contains everything you need. No need for a Jamie Oliver "Comfort Food" cookbook. Brighton, bring it on:

1. Dumplings

The Chinese takeaway for overeaters. Seriously, don’t think that cheap prices mean small portions.

Look at this Chinese takeaway beauty. #dumplingsbrighton #chinese #guiltypleasure #stella

2. St. James Tavern

Birthplace of the Tuaca tradition in Brighton. A sweet but quite high-proof alcoholic (37%) liqueur.

3. Pizza 500

Best Pizza in town and yes they do have buffalo mozzarella. Trust me, it tastes almost like a pizza in the Spanish Quarter of Naples.

4. Brighton Rocks

Food, drinks, awesome bar staff. They have their own microbrewed ale, although I wouldn't recommend it, but how cool is that?  Quite often my „last stop“.

5. Filfil

Stroll through North Laine and end your shopping day with humus. We all need more humus in our lives.

6. Cloud 9

If you’re still feeling peckish after your mezze platter, go get a rainbow cake, sit and digest. The buttercreme is a bit extreme.

7. Mac Doner

This is not any other kebab place from some high street. This is the best chips place in town. They also make their falafel wrap bread on their own, it’s a naan type one. Indulge!

8. Chilli Pickle

I know, everybody recommends it, but this really is a different curry place. The best opportunity to skip the Madras and discover more from India’s cuisine. Cocktails are nice there, too.

9. Saint George's

The best pub food I have had so far in Brighton. The sweet potato chips and their chips in general are highly recommended. The cook always asks how you liked it and is such a friendly lad.

10. Grubbs

This is the best fast food discovery so far. Only after telling people about it I realised that Grubbs is already a thing here. But I don’t care. I’m a fan. Especially of the Malaysian burger. This is me, fangirling over a burger place. And it's a selfie. Look what I've become.

Please note: I am not sponsored for this blog pist. You can take this advice seriously. Guten Appetit!
